What does personalized medicine, data gathering and cybersecurity mean to all of us? FIND OUT!

THE CHICAGO CHAPTER OF THE FULBRIGHT ASSOCIATION in partnership with the Global Health Initiative of Northwestern Medicine, invite you to attend a forum focusing on the medical, legal and privacy issues of personalized medicine, and data gathering.

The educational forum will comprise:

Dr. Joyce Ho, the Lead Investigator for Northwestern University’s participation as a Health Care Provider Organization in The Precision Medicine Initiative, a long-term collaborative effort between the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other research institutions, which focuses on a person’s genetics, lifestyle and environment in determining the best approach to treatment and prevention of disease.

Kurt V. Jose, CEO of IndiviDx, a clinical laboratory specializing in Pharmacogenetics testing; Cyber Security Expert from the FBI

Each year the frequency of data breaches continues to increase with the health industry being one of the most compromised fields. How is personal data protected, how do providers of genetic testing safeguard data, how accurate are commercial DNA tests, and what is being done to make data more secure? – These will be some of the questions and topics discussed.
